Mission Statement:

Center Line Studios, Inc is a professional and customer driven company whose sole purpose is NOT to be a "just another scene shop" but a theatrical resource. We take pride in our research and development of new and innovative methods and materials to meet our clients' needs. While creating quality theatrical scenery for various entertainment avenues, CLS also makes it a priority to help secure the future of the industry by taking the time to mentor young people in the vast array of careers available in the Fine Arts.

History:

Center Line Studios is one of the nation's largest IATSE shops serving the theatre, opera and entertainment industry. Just sixty miles north of New York City, CLS works hand-in-hand with some of the most prestigious producers and designers in the business. With well over 65 years of combined theatrical experience, this family owned and managed company has developed into a renowned and dependable theatrical resource operation. Under the new ownership of Managing Director, Shelley Gray, CLS is making new strides to expand the talents and ideals of the company into different arenas.

CLS was founded in 1986 by theatrical veteran, Roger Gray. It was his vision to create a company that used research and innovative methods to produce quality theatrical scenery. Located in Cornwall, NY, Center Line Studios started as a small business with only 3 employees. Roger's creative business sense and his imcomparable problem solving skills propelled CLS into the public eye as it started to gain support by local designers and recognition by fellow theatre shops. His ingenious ideas made designers' dreams become a reality while continuing to be economical. Those same fundamentals still hold true today. With a growing studio of 30+ people, CLS has made a name for itself and continues to be a key player in the business.

In Spring 2003, ownership changed hands. Roger stepped back from the business side of the company to focus more on quality control and client satisfaction. Shelley, who has been with Center Line since its inception, has expanded her operational management focus to become Managing Director & CEO. With her fresh and innovative ideas, and managing "know-how" it is no doubt that there will be some welcomed transformations in the months and years to come. Although Roger still plays an intricate role in the decision-making, he has opened a large portion of his day to attend to the needs of the company's clients.

Looking ahead, Center Line Studios, Inc. is continually working to stay innovative and competitive in the theatrical field. With a new look and new management in place, CLS is excited and confident about what the future has in store.
